City Administrator

The City of Glen Rose is seeking its first City Administrator to oversee _23 full-time employees and a total budget of $3,900,000.00. Glen Rose is a town of 2300 people with water, wastewater, police, streets, and related public services. A professional comprehensive plan was completed in late 2009. Glen Rose is a 4B sales tax city with a significant CVB program. The City Administrator is appointed by the five-member City Council.

Glen Rose, in Somervell County, is located 70 miles southwest of the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex at the edge of the Hill Country. Tourism is significant to the area. This position requires a minimum of 5 years stable and progressive experience in local government including management, finance, and budget. Candidate must be capable of earning trust and credibility in the community as well as implementing the comprehensive plan.

Candidates should possess a Bachelors Degree with a major in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, or related field. Glen Rose offers a competitive starting salary, depending on experience and qualification. The City is a participant with TMRS. A full range of insurance and benefits is provided.

CITY OFFICE WORKER

 The City of Glen Rose will accept applications for an office worker in the Administration office until 5:00 PM Tuesday, March 30, 2010.   Applicant must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and hold a current valid drivers license. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening test. Candidate must be able to work cash register and handle money, good computer skills and be good with people.  Applications will be received between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at Town Hall, 201 N.E. Vernon, Glen Rose, Texas 76043.  Persons who have applied to the City within the past six (6) months will automatically be considered for this position and need not re-apply.
